Kepemenprekraf Hopes Airline Ticket Prices Will Drop Again In Semester I 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) has intensely coordinated in the task force (task force) to reduce the price of aircraft tickets formed by the government.

"The plane ticket components cross the ministry and the regulatory institutions, such as the price of the avtur and then the tax component, and several also, for example, flight arrangements. We continue to coordinate every month to be able to in terms of the authority of each ministry," said the Director of Regional Tourism Marketing I of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wisnu Sindhutrisno, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 20.

He hopes that the plane ticket price can fall again in the first half of next year, although it cannot be the same as the plane ticket price before the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We continue to work and we hope that in the first half of 2025 the price of the plane ticket will be adjusted again, down. And we are exploring several challenges, we are pilah one by one and we map them out. This is not just a matter of flight tourism, but almost all aspects of human life ranging from business to family visits," he said.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy also encourages tourists to use transportation modes other than planes, such as trains, vehicles by land, or ferries to tourist destinations.

"From the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, of course, we will continue to encourage the promotion of tourism destinations, as well as arriving at destinations not via flight. So, for example, by road, by vehicle, by train, for example in Batam Bintan it can also be via ferry, yes, between Lombok Bali can be via ferry, Lombok Labuan Bajo is also like that, we encourage other modes of transportation that can be relatively cheaper," said Wisnu Sindhutrisno.

Sebeumnya, Menteri Koordinator Bidang Kemaritiman dan Investasi Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan menyiapkan langkah efisiensi penerbangan untuk menurunkan harga tiket pesawat, salah satunya terkait evaluasi operasi biaya pesawat.

Luhut explained that the Cost Per Block Hour (CBH), which is the largest component of aircraft operating costs, needs to be identified with details of its formation.

His party also formulated a strategy to reduce the value of CBH, based on aircraft types and flight services.
