JAKARTA - A furniture product made in Indonesia received an enthusiastic response from foreign markets. South Korea is one of the things that shows strong purchasing power against furniture made in the country.

The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) noted that furniture products from Indonesia generate a potential transaction of USD 2.27 million or IDR 35.01 billion at the Korea International Furniture and Interior Fair (Kofurn) 2024 exhibition. Indonesia's participation in the exhibition was carried out by the collaboration of the Ministry of Trade through the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Busan, the Seoul Trade Attache, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Seoul, and the Indonesian Furniture and Crafts Industry Association (Asmindo).

Head of ITPC Busan Husodo Kuncoro Yakti said the achievement of the potential for Indonesian furniture transactions in Kofurn 2024 amounting to US$2.27 million came from business matching and the interest of business actors visiting the Indonesian Pavilion.

"In addition, it comes from direct sales transactions of samples brought by Indonesian exporters worth 20 million South Korean won," Husodo said in a statement in Jakarta, Sunday.

In this exhibition, the Indonesian Pavilion presented eight furniture companies with products in the form of chairs made of rattan and wood, tables, eating utensils and cabinets.

"Natural products such as rattan with minimal size are very popular in South Korea," said Husodo.
