Meeting Luhut, Anindya Bakrie Didn't Ask For Support To Advance The Nomination For The Chairman Of Kadin

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie and a number of regional Kadin officials visited the office of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on Monday, March 29.

However, Anindya's visit to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment was not to discuss her candidacy in the election for the general chairman of Kadin for the 2021-2026 period.

On her Instagram social media account @anindyabakrie, Anindya shared photos of her meeting moments with Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Anindya explained that at the meeting, his party and Luhut discussed post-epidemic economic recovery.

"Earlier we discussed the economic crisis caused by the pandemic, its impact on regional friends, as well as how to deal with it with the national economic recovery stimulus (PEN) and the Job Creation Law," he wrote, quoted on Tuesday, March 30.

Anindya said, the regional Kadin representatives who were present also expressed their hopes for the government, in this case the Coordinating Minister for Marves, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, for cooperation regarding a number of efforts that could be carried out by the regions.

The Kadin representatives who participated in the meeting were the General Chairperson of the Riau Islands Kadin, Ahmad Maruf Maulana, the General Chair of the Bangka Belitung Kadin Tomas Jusman, the General Chairperson of the West Java Kadin Cucu Sutara, the Gorontalo and Bali Kadin.

"Pak Luhut conveyed that there are many things that can be cooperated between the government and Kadin, both central and regional. For example, the food estate program currently being worked on by President Jokowi's administration also has many other opportunities," he said.

In the future, said Anindya, Kadin would become a strategic partner for the government in the post-COVID-19 economic recovery. According to him, cooperation between the government and the business world is the key to economic recovery.

"I am optimistic that the economy will rise and grow more advanced, but progress together. We want the economy not only to advance but also to be evenly distributed. We want to advance Indonesia from the regions," said the son of Aburizal Bakrie.
