Pursuing New Oil Reserves, PHR Conducts 3D Seismic Survey In Siak

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) will carry out a 3-dimensional seismic survey around the South Aman, Mindal, and Asih fields, Siak Regency. The plan for the 3D seismic survey of Lisaman is carried out with an estimated area of 358 Km2 from October 2024 to October 2025.

For information, seismic surveys are geophysical exploration techniques that use sound waves to map the subsurface structure of the earth. With data obtained from seismic surveys, PHR will be able to identify potential new oil and gas reserves, as well as optimize production in existing fields.

The target of the 3D BLACK Seismic proposal is the trap in the Farmers, Sihapas and Pematang Formations.

PHR Corporate Secretary Rudi Ariffianto said PHR continues to strive to increase oil production in the Rokan working area (WK). Together with PT Elnusa Tbk and supported by SKK Migas, PHR continues to actively look for new oil reserves in the Rokan Block to maintain national energy security.

Rudi said, PHR always pays attention to aspects of safety and the environment in its operations. Prior to the implementation of the seismic survey, PHR had conducted socialization to the surrounding community and involved other stakeholders, especially the Siak Regency Government.

The Siak Regency Government fully supports the seismic survey activities that will be carried out by PHR. The district government realizes that seismic activities need to be carried out to support PHR operations in maintaining national energy security.

Because this survey is located in the Kandis, we ask the sub-district head to convey to the penghulu and the public that PHR will carry out seismic survey activities.
