Four Sections Of The Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road That Jokowi Inaugurated Costs IDR 13.5 Trillion

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has inaugurated 4 sections of the Sigli-Banda Aceh (Sibanceh) Toll Road on Monday, September 9, 2024.

The four sections include Section 2 Seulimeum-Jantho, Section 3 Jantho-Indrapuri, Section 5 Blang Bintang-Kuto Baro and Section 6 Kuto Baro-Baitussalam.

The 4 of the total 6 sections of the inaugurated Sibanceh Toll Road have a total length of 35 kilometers (km).

Secretary of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of PUPR Apri Artoto said that Section Seulimeum-Jantho, Jantho-Indrapuri, Blang Bintang-Kuto Baro and Kuto Baro-Baitussalam along 35 km continued Section 4 (Indrapuri-Blang Bintang) which was previously inaugurated by President Jokowi in August 2020.

Then, Section 1 Padang Tiji-Seulimeum along 25 km which is still in the final stages of construction and is targeted to operate in November 2024.

"So, all Sigli-Banda Aceh toll roads are targeted to be operational this year," said Apri in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, September 10.

According to Apri, the benefits of this toll road are to improve connectivity and accessibility from Banda Aceh City to Sigli to North Sumatra and vice versa.

"The presence of the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road which will be fully connected is also expected to increase competitiveness and logistics system on trade routes in Aceh Province and encourage the growth of new productive economic activity centers, especially in the Banda Aceh-Sigli corridor," he added.

It is known that the Sibanceh Toll Entrepreneurship is part of the government's assignment to PT Hutama Karya (Persero) as the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) with an investment value of IDR 13.5 trillion and PT Adhi Karya Tbk as the implementing contractor.

Overall, the total length of the Sibanceh Toll Road reaches 74 km consisting of 6 sections, namely Section 1 Padang Tiji- Seulimeum, Section 2 Seulimeum-Jantho, Section 3 Jantho-Indrapuri, Section 4 Indrapuri-Blang Bintang, Section 5 Blang Bintang-Kuto Baro and Section 6 Kuto Baro-Baitusalam.
