JAKARTA - Gojek has decided to close business activities in Vietnam, starting from September 16, 2024.

GoTo Corporate Secretary Koesoemohadiani said that his party made this strategic decision in order to focus more on developing and strengthening operational activities that could provide potential for significant growth in a sustainable manner.

"Our business in Vietnam contributed less than 0.5 percent of the GoTo Group's GTV and 2 percent of the GTV on-demand services in the second quarter of 2024," he said in a statement received by VOI, Thursday, September 5.

Thus, he said, this business decision will not have a negative impact on GoTo's operations more broadly, as well as overall business and financial performance.

He also ensured that GoTo will continue to invest in initiatives that can generate growth while remaining committed to the breakeven-appropriated EBITDA target for the whole of 2024.

"We would like to thank employees, customers, driver-partners, and merchant partners who have played a major role in our business in Vietnam. We will provide the necessary support for all affected parties during the transition process, in accordance with applicable regulations and legislation in the region," concluded Koesoemoharani.
