AIR CEO Supports PP No. 28 Of 2024 As An Important Step To Increase Vape Industry In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Sam Ong, CEO of AIR Badminton, emphasized his support for Government Regulation (PP) No. 28 of 2024 which was recently implemented, as a crucial step in strengthening regulation of the vape industry in Indonesia. According to Sam Ong, this regulation is the answer to various concerns that have emerged regarding access to vaping products for children and adolescents, as well as the importance of maintaining product quality to protect consumers.

The Indonesian government recently issued Government Regulation No. 28 of 2024, which is directly in the spotlight among industry players and the general public. This regulation is designed to answer several critical issues in the vape industry, especially related to access that is too easy for children and adolescents to vaping products. In addition, concerns regarding the use of irregular raw materials and their potential impact on health are also the main reasons behind the birth of this regulation.

Sam Ong views that this regulation is very much needed to enforce stricter standards in the industry, so that only quality and safe products can be circulated in the market.

"This regulation comes at the right time. We see that the market requires tighter supervision, especially to protect youth groups from the negative impacts that may be caused by products that do not meet standards," said Sam Ong, in a written statement, Tuesday, September 3.

According to him, PP No. 28 of 2024 reflects the serious efforts of the Indonesian government to better regulate this industry and protect consumers from unwanted risks. As a professional who has been in this industry for a long time, it is important to support the Indonesian government's steps in issuing PP No. 28 of 2024.

This regulation will not only limit access to vape products for children and adolescents, but will also encourage manufacturers to be more responsible for producing and marketing products. He added that adjustments to marketing strategies are essential so that vaping products do not fall into the wrong hands.

"With this regulation, product promotion and marketing must be carried out very carefully, following established guidelines. This is to ensure that vape products can only be accessed by adult users who really understand what they are consuming," explained Sam Ong.

Sam Ong also emphasized the importance of transparency of raw materials as part of the manufacturer's responsibility to maintain consumer health.

"We at AIR have confirmed, for example, that all the raw materials used in our products are clearly the origin of which to be used. This is a commitment that must be maintained by all producers in this industry," he said.

As part of its commitment to stay in touch with consumers and listen to their needs, Sam Ong also announced that AIRelapan would participate in the Jakarta Vape Fair 2024. Although this event is an opportunity to introduce products and services, Sam Ong emphasizes more the importance of direct dialogue with consumers.
