Government Announces WK Central Andaman, Amanah And WK Melati Auction Winners

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced the Winner of the 2024 Migas Oil and Gas Direct Offering Auction for Phase I 2024 for WK Central Andaman, WK Amanah, and WK Melati in South Kuta, Bali, Tuesday, September 3.

The three WKs have investment value, in the form of a definite commitment of 19.88 million US dollars and a signature bonus of 800,000 US dollars.

"What is interesting about this announcement is that there are Chinese oil and gas companies participating in this Oil and Gas Working Area Auction. For that we also express our gratitude for the support of the Chinese Government," said Acting Director General of Oil and Gas Dadan Kusdiana when announcing the winner on the sidelines of the 7th Indonesia-China Energy Forum (ICEF) event, Tuesday, September 3.

The announcement of the WK Auction Winner was marked by the submission of the Auction Winner Determination Letter by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia to the Permanent Business Entity/Business Entity of Auction Participants.

The following are the winners of the direct bidding auction for 3 Oil and Gas Working Areas Phase 1 of 2024:

First, WK Central Andaman (NorthOffshore Sumatra), the winner is the South Andaman Limited Premier Oil Consortium and Mubadala Energy Holdings Limited, with a signature bonus of 300,000 US dollars and a Total Commitment of 4.03 million US dollars.

Second, WK Amanah (Onshore South Sumatra), the winner is the Consortium PT Medco Energi Linggau, PT Sele Raya and KUFPEC Regional Ventures (Indonesia) Limited, with a signature bonus of 300,000 US dollars and a Total Commitment of 3.15 million US dollars.

Third, WK Melati (Onshore-OffShore Southeast Sulawesi-Central Sulawesi), the winners are the Consortium PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, Sinopec International Energy Investment Holdings Limited and KUFPEC Regional Ventures (Indonesia) Limited, with a signature bonus of 200,000 US dollars and a Total Commitment of 12.70 million US dollars.

In the 2024 Migas Working Area Offer, there are 5 (five) Working Areas that have been offered, namely WK Amanah, WK Central Andaman, WK Melati, Working Area Panai, and WK Pesut Mahakam.

Specifically, the WK Panai Auction and Pesut Mahakam WK are still ongoing, and are offered with a Regular Auction mechanism and will end on September 11, 2024.

The plan to offer the Phase II Migas Working Area in 2024 is tentative that there are 5 working areas that are considered potential and are candidates to be offered, namely WK Air Komering, WK Binaiya, WK Gaea, WK Kojo, and WK Serpang.
