JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) appointed PT Pertamina Internasional Shipping (PIS) as the carrier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from buying and selling between PGN from Donggiapyo. This collaboration is contained in the contract for transporting Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Cargo from Donggi OKYO Field to Floating Storage & Regasion Unit (FSRU) located in Lampung (FSRU Lampung).

The contract was signed by PGN Group Head Gas and LNG System Management Tatit Sri Jayendra and PIS I VP Gas Ketut Permadi Aryakuumara on Wednesday, August 28.

The plan is for LNG to be transported to FSRU Lampung in mid-September 2024. The ship used is the Lady Eva Ship, with a total LNG volume transported of around 135,000 m3 or equivalent to 3,159,000 MMBTU.

PGN Commercial Director Ratih Esti Prihatini, who witnessed the signing of this cooperation, said that currently there is a balance between demand and gas supply for customer needs in West Java, South Sumatra and Lampung.

"In the current unbalance condition, PGN needs an alternative solution to fulfill natural gas, namely through LNG from DonggiULo. The Pertamina group synergy in this collaboration proves that Oil and Gas Holding is proof of the success of increasing effectiveness and efficiency of energy services. With the LNG source located in Eastern Indonesia, LNG carriers are needed to transport LNG to the FSRU Lampung facility," said Ratih in a statement to the media, Friday, August 30.

Ratih continued, LNG will be regasified at the Lampung FSRU. Then the gas from the regasification will be included in the SSWJ Transmission Pipeline system which distributes gas to the PGN distribution network and then distributed to customers.

Ratih added that PGN seeks to secure supplies, including cooperating with potential parties and all stakeholders.

"PGN is also very grateful for the support of various parties, this time from PIS, so that an alternative that allows to bring in additional LNG from Eastern Indonesia can be realized immediately," concluded Ratih.
