Minister Of PUPR Basuki: The Quality Of Drinking Water In IKN Is Better Than Packaging

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said the quality of drinking water in the capital city of Nusantara or IKN is much better than bottled drinking water.

"For clean water there, the results are safe to drink. The Nephelometric Turbidity Unit or NTU is much better than bottled drinking water," Basuki said in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, August 27.

He also added that the source of drinking water in IKN came from the Sepaku Semoi Dam

"The Sepaku Semoi Dam is a source of drinking water at IKN, we are also here to make eight greenhouses to grow tomatoes, vegetables and melons," he said.

Vegetables and fruit planted in the greenhouse can later be commercialized to meet the needs of hotels and accommodation at IKN.

For information, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Task Force or the Implementation Task Force for Infrastructure Development of the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) revealed that based on a report from Sucofindo, clean water in the archipelago, East Kalimantan, can be drunk.

The clean water supply that has been available in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) area has a safe quality for people to consume directly from the tap.

The water supply is not only clean, but is also managed using a water potential water management system, so that the resulting water is safe for immediate consumption by the community.

Water supply in IKN has been prepared through a test to drain drinking water from the Sepaku intake, North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, to a reservoir at IKN which is 15.8 kilometers away.

The raw water treatment system from the Sepaku Semoi Dam and Sepaku Intake is prepared to supply water needs in IKN for the next decade.
