Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya Ensures IKN Airport Can Be Directed By Presidential Aircraft In September 2024

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi ensured that the Capital Airport of the Archipelago (IKN), in East Kalimantan, could accommodate the presidential plane in September.

This target is in line with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s plan to move to IKN in September 2024. As is known, Jokowi's own tenure will end on October 20.

"In early September, yes (it could accommodate the presidential plane)," said Budi while lifting two thumbs ups, met in the Ancol area, Jakarta, Monday, August 26.

Previously, it was reported that the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would start moving to the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, in the first week of September 2024.

Basuki said President Jokowi's move would adjust to the readiness for the construction of VVIP Airport at IKN.

"What I know is that the President (Jokowi) will move if the airport operates in the first week of September," said Basuki when met at his office, Friday, August 23.

On the other hand, Basuki said that various infrastructure facilities were also ready to welcome Jokowi at IKN. For example, the Presidential Office, Garuda Palace, then the Ministerial Position Tax House (RTJM), which number is now 14 units and other projects are a number of ASN-Hankam Flats.

According to him, these various infrastructures are signs that IKN is ready to accommodate the move of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN).

"So (the development continues gradually). That's why Mr. Menpan RB (Abdullah Azwar Anas), right (mentioning) this September there are 1,700 (ASN). In accordance with availability, 1,700 ASN have started moving," said Basuki.
