Puan Confesses To Megawati At IKN Difficult To Take A Shower, Minister Basuki Answers Like This

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has opened its voice regarding the condition of clean water in the capital city of Nusantara, East Kalimantan.

Previously, PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri told about the small availability of water at IKN. This is Puan Maharani's vent, her son, who complained that it was still difficult for water to take a bath.

This was conveyed during the Announcement speech for Regional Candidates for Phase 2 PDIP on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Megawati said that Puan, who had just held an independence day ceremony at IKN, complained about water problems and had to be willing not to be able to take a shower.

"This is Ms. Puan's story, she went to IKN, yes. The story 'of the water is difficult,' Then I asked 'what do you take to take a shower,' she said, yes, it's just a lap-lap," Megawati said in a video of the Announcement of Regional Candidates for Phase 2 PDIP which was broadcast virtually, Thursday, August 22 yesterday.

Due to the poor water condition at IKN, Puan also said that many Paskibra troops were poisoned by water at IKN.

"Then, many of my Paskibraka got eroded, what did they get, e-coli. Well, thank God it's strong. Every day I call, who else gets hit? Let's be strong," said Megawati.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono also opened his voice. He said, there was no problem with the water in IKN.

"I was there for a week, it's okay (not having any water problems). (The volume of water) has no problem," said Basuki when met at his office, Friday, August 23.

Meanwhile, regarding E. coli bacteria, the Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force of the Ministry of PUPR Danis H. Sumadilaga said that based on the results of laboratory tests conducted by PT Sucofindo, there were no E. coli bacteria in the water in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN.

"From Sucofindo, the bacteria E. coli is 0. Not my word, you know, said Sucofindo. So, just use data. This (data) is only August," he said.

PT Sucofindo, said Danis, has carried out a thorough examination of every parcel in KIPP. He said the test results were good from the biological, physical and chemical categories showing that the water was safe for consumption.

"Yes, that's it," he said.
