Thanks To Downstreaming, Jokowi Reveals State Revenue Reaches IDR 158 Trillion

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo alias Jokowi said the downstream program for his 8-year leadership had increased state revenue by Rp158 trillion.

Jokowi explained that Indonesia had taken major steps to increase productivity and added value by no longer exporting raw materials. However, first process it domestically.

"Although many other countries are suing, opposing, and even trying to thwart, we as sovereign nations, as a large nation, we do not falter, we even continue to move forward," he explained at the MPR/DPR/DPD RI Annual Session which was held at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 16.

Jokowi said the move started from nickel, bauxite, and panacea which will be continued with tin, as well as other potential sectors, such as plantations, agriculture and marine.

As a result of this, Jokowi said that currently, smelters and processing industries for nickel, bauxite, and copper have been built that have opened more than 200 thousand jobs.

"Alhamdulillah, until now, smelters and processing industries have been built for nickel, bauxite, and copper which have opened more than 200 thousand jobs and increased state revenues of IDR 158 trillion over the past 8 years," said Jokowi.

Jokowi hopes that the wealth in the country can be managed as much as possible for the benefit of the people and can be used as much as possible for the welfare of the people.

Therefore, Jokowi said that Indonesia has also taken back our assets which have been managed by foreign parties for decades, which for decades have benefited from foreigners, such as Freeport, Rokan Block, and Newmont.

"Alhamdulillah, we can take over all of that again," he explained.
