Five Bigbird Electric Buses Ready To Deliver Important Guests On The 79th Indonesian Independence Day Celebration At IKN

JAKARTA - At least five electric buses consisting of medium to large sizes are ready to escort important guests (VIP) in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of the capital city of the archipelago during the ceremony of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, 2024.

Bigbird electric bus field coordinator from private company Blue Bird Taufik Hidayat said that his party had alerted two medium buses and three large buses.

"We are trusted by the IKN Authority for mobilization on August 17, that's what we prioritized," Taufik told Antara in the rest area of IKN, East Kalimantan, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, August 14.

The five buses provided have various capacities. Laksana-type buses whose caraceries are made domestically have the largest capacity, namely 30 seats and 15 standing passenger areas. So that it can carry 45 passengers on a single road.

Two other large buses can accommodate 40 passengers, sit and stand. One passenger-only medium bus sits with 16 seats. And one medium bus that can accommodate 30 passengers sits and stands.

The plan is for the operation, on August 17, this electric bus will pick up important guests at predetermined points such as the landed house of ministerial positions (RTJM), Hotel Nusantara, the residence of the state civil apparatus (ASN) and so on.

"Our pick-up points are different from conventional buses. We will pick up the ball. We will approach and mobilize invited guests from Jakarta and ministers to the points of the venue," he said.

In addition to electric buses, his party will also alert 10 electric taxi fleets that can pick up important guests if there is a request.

For battery disbursement, there is currently a location for public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) at IKN.

His party will also build its own electric vehicle charging station unit, as well as provide faulty car vehicles that can move to electric bus locations if needed.

For the distance, in the 2,500 kwh of electric batteries used, large buses can cover 200-300 km. Meanwhile, medium buses can cover a distance of 190 km in one full disbursement.

"So for the mobilization of the Palace area in IKN, I think it is still comfortable," he explained.

Taufik said that for the time being his party was assigned to serve important guests on August 17, 2024 at IKN. Furthermore, they will also conduct trials for the next four months in the new capital city.

"It is possible that after four months, we will continue there," said Taufik.

In addition to electric bus modes, the government also provides at least one unit of the railless autonomous train for the mobilization of invited guests on August 17 at IKN. This railless autonomous train has three carriages that can carry a total of about 300 passengers.
