JAKARTA - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono wants to make Indonesia the world's best lobster cultivator and dominate the commodity market.

"Later through the Director General (Dirjen) of Cultivation and the Director General of Capture will work together and work together to make the country for the best lobster cultivators in the world," said Minister Trenggono, when reviewing the lobster cultivation process at the Lombok Marine Cultivation Fishery Center (BPBL), West Lombok Regency. , West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), quoted from Antara, Thursday, March 25.

Minister Trenggono emphasized that all lobster seeds (fries) could not be exported, but would be directed to support domestic cultivation.

"Everyone must seize the ability to cultivate lobsters in the country. Because the value is very large, the world market is approximately 4 billion dollars," said Minister Trenggono.

Minister Trenggono said that in order to realize Indonesia as the world's best lobster cultivator, his party is currently revising all draft ministerial regulations in accordance with the Job Creation Law.

"Hopefully in the future it will start. And the ban on the export of lobster fry has stopped until today," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPBL Lombok, Mulyanto, said that his party continued to carry out innovations in cultivation development, especially since the route for lobster cultivation had been reopened after several years had stopped.

"Through engineering activities, we try to apply appropriate technology which will later be developed into the community," he said.

Apart from that, he said, his party is also researching diseases in lobsters and conducting feed research. Besides also applying the technology of lobster seed maintenance starting from the nursery stage to harvesting.

The integration of lobster cultivation will be disseminated to the community. Efforts to expand technology through dissemination and assistance are expected to have an impact on the community to be motivated to cultivate lobsters.

"Through the dissemination, we hope that people can participate in good cultivation and produce good lobsters, so that they can improve people's lives," said Mulyanto.
