Pertamina Patra Niaga Will Distribute 138,000 MT Chemical Products For PSN Alumina Refinery

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga distributes chemical products to the national strategic project (PSN) of Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) at PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia.

"Our chemical product, namely Caustic Soda, will be distributed as much as 138,000 MT during 2024, we predict that the volume of distribution will continue to increase in line with the increasing demand for alumni production," said Pertamina's Director of Central and Commercial Marketing Patra Niaga, Maya Kusmaya in a statement to the media, Monday, August 5.

Furthermore, Maya Kusmaya revealed that Pertamina Patra Niaga is committed to developing new commodities for the portfolio of Petrochemical and Chemical Business products at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga.

Separately, the President Director of PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia, Leonard Manurung, explained that Caustic Soda is one of the main raw materials for producing alumina smelter grades.

"Pertamina Patra Niaga is a strategic partner involved in supplying Caustic Soda and this collaboration is expected to ensure the availability and smooth supply and production at the PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia Factory," Leonard explained.

Just so you know, PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia is a joint venture between PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum (Persero) or Inalum and PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam).

The company, which is located in West Kalimantan, was founded to develop and operate the bauxite refining plant (alumina smelter grade) project into an alumina with a production capacity of 1 million alumina tons per year.

This alumina refining plant aims to process bauxite into alumina at the level of melting or smelter-grade alumina (SGA).

It is hoped that this project can support the government's initiative to increase downstream industry and increase Indonesia's competitiveness in the global market.
