Starting Today, KAI Conducts Trials For Adding 14 Jabodebek LRT Trips

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI conducted a trial of adding 14 Jabodebek LRT trips starting today, August 5.

This trial is carried out on weekdays or weekdays, especially during peak hours.

Jabodebek LRT Public Relations Manager Mahendro Trang Bawono conveyed that with this trial, the total number of Jabodebek LRT trips on weekdays increased from 336 trips to 350 trips.

With the trial of additional travel, continued Mahendro, the distance between trains or headways will also be shorter, namely 10 minutes on the Jatimulya-Dukuh Atas and Harjamukti-Dukuh Atas routes.

And 5 minutes on the Cawang-Dukuh Atas route.

Previously, the Jabodebek LRT headway on the three routes during peak hours or peak hours reached 5.5 to 11 minutes.

"Trials for additional travel are being carried out to meet the increasing needs of the community," he said in an official statement, Monday, August 5.

In July 2024, continued Mahendro, there was a significant increase in the number of users by 17 percent compared to June. Specifically, on weekdays the average number of users reached 75,694 people, while on weekends it reached 35,789 people.

"We are trying to adjust the Jabodebek LRT service to the growing needs of users, and we believe this step will further improve the comfort and efficiency of user travel," he said.

With this trial, KAI hopes to provide more convenience for users, especially during busy hours who often experience congestion.

"KAI continues to be committed to meeting the needs of the community and ensuring safe and comfortable travel," concluded Mahendro.
