Minister Basuki: PUPR Has Prepared A Budget Of IDR 90 Billion To Replace IKN Land Loss

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) revealed the latest news on the progress of compensation for 2,086 hectares (ha) of land in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that his party had prepared a budget of Rp90 billion for compensation costs.

"We have prepared around Rp90 billion in cash," said Basuki when met by reporters at his office, Friday, August 2.

Basuki added that the compensation process is currently underway. However, he admitted that he could not specify the number of recipients because currently the integrated team consisting of OIKN, PUPR and the Provincial Government of East Kalimantan (Kaltim) were processing this in the field.

With the issuance of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 75 of 2024, said Basuki, the public can now choose if they want to receive compensation money or be relocated through the Social Impact Handling (PDSK) Plus scheme.

On the other hand, he explained that he had also asked permission from the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati so that PUPR could pay Rp90 billion for the compensation fee.

"We have also permission from the Minister of Finance (Sri Mulyani) for PUPR to be able to pay there, it should be OIKN. However, the budget is limited so it can be helped," he said.

Even so, Basuki did not give a definite answer if the total Rp90 billion was only for the first stage of compensation or the overall compensation of 2,086 hectares of land at IKN.

He only answered that the Rp90 billion budget was prepared for affected residents in three locations, namely the 6A and 6B toll roads and the Sepaku-Semoi Dam flood control area. "Yes, for the 6A, 6B toll road and the soccer flood," said Basuki.
