JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono inspected the progress of the construction of the Solo-Yogyakarta Toll Road in Central Java, on Wednesday, July 24.

He targets the 22.3 kilometer (km) Kartasura-Klaten toll road project to be completed by the end of August 2024.

Basuki instructed contractors to maintain the frequentity of toll road barriers because this includes criteria and technical standards for toll road construction.

This section is expected to reduce travel time from about 50-60 minutes via national roads to around 25-30 minutes.

The Kartasura-Klaten section is part of the Solo-Yogyakarta-YIA Kulonprogo Toll Road with a total length of 96.57 km.

This toll road consists of 3 sections, namely Section 1 Solo-Klaten-Purwomartani (42.3 km), Section 2 Purwomartani-Monjali-Sleman (16 km) and Section 3 Gamping-Kulonprogo (38.57 km).

Meanwhile, the 20-km Klaten-Purwomartani section is targeted to be completed by the end of 2024.
