PT PLN (Persero) has paid dividends of IDR 3.09 trillion to the state as a result of the 2023 PLN General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) held at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Building, Jakarta, Monday, July 22.
PLN noted that this figure also exceeds one and a half times the target set for the 2023 financial year.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo in his statement in Jakarta, Tuesday explained at the GMS this time, PLN reported the financial performance of the 2023 financial year, where the transformation of PLN again succeeded in presenting the best performance.
In addition to contributing to the state through dividend deposits which reached Rp3.09 trillion, PLN also contributed through tax revenues (income tax, VAT, stamp duty, import duties, regional taxes, and regional levies), and non-tax state revenue (PNBP) which reached Rp52.57 trillion.
PLN's profit also increased 53.12 percent year on year (yoy) from IDR 14.41 trillion in 2022 to IDR 22.07 trillion in 2023.
PLN's financial performance was supported by electricity sales growth in 2023 which reached 288.44 terrawat hour (TWh) or an increase of 5.36 percent YoY from 273.76 TWh in 2022. This had an impact on the company's total revenue which reached IDR 487.38 trillion in 2023 or grew significantly compared to the achievement in 2022 which amounted to IDR 46.25 trillion.
"This achievement was obtained for the struggle of all PLN personnel who carry out digital-based transformations end to end. Starting from the generating system, transmission, distribution, procurement, financial system, planning system to restructuring of customer organizations and services," Darmawan said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday.
Darmawan also expressed his gratitude to the government, especially the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Ministry of Finance, and other stakeholders for their support for the transformation efforts that the company continues to carry out.
"The fruit of this transformation is impossible for PLN to achieve without the support of the government. The government consistently maintains people's purchasing power and presents an attractive investment ecosystem for business and industrial people so that electricity consumption continues to grow," he said.
