The Indonesian Manufacturing Sector Becomes The Main Support For The National Economy, Here's The Proof

JAKARTA - The manufacturing sector is still the main support for the national economy.

This is reflected in the export value of the non-oil and gas processing industry in January-June 2024 which reached 91.65 billion US dollars.

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said, of the various data available, it shows that the manufacturing sector in Indonesia has succeeded in growing with a fairly encouraging rate.

"The export of manufactured products, which is basically almost 74 percent of national exports, comes from goods produced in the manufacturing sector," said Minister of Industry Agus in his remarks at the opening of the 2024 Industrial Services Exhibition and Seminar at the Ministry of Industry Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 23.

Not only in terms of exports, the contribution of the non-oil and gas processing industry to the National GDP in the first quarter of 2024 also reached 17.47 percent.

Then, the growth of the non-oil and gas processing industry reached 4.64 percent in the first quarter of 2024.

Then, the manufacturing sector will make a big contribution to state revenues in 2023.

The manufacturing sector contributed 26.90 percent.

Next, the contribution of investment in the manufacturing sector in the first quarter of 2024 reached 38.73 percent or reached Rp155.5 trillion.

In addition, the contribution of industrial workers until February 2024 has reached 13.23 percent.

This means that the non-oil and gas processing industry has absorbed 18.82 million people at that time.

"In addition, there is also quite encouraging data, which in 2023 based on data from the World Bank, Indonesia is in the 12th position of the top manufacturing countries by value added, with a manufacturing value added of 255 billion US dollars," he said.
