Fast Trains Whoosh 4 Million Passengers Since 8 Months Of Operation

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) orfeatish mencatat jumlah penumpang pelapan kejangkapan pemudara cepat bettersh telah mencapai 4 juta orang.

"Since it started commercial operations on October 17, 2023, the number of high-speed train passengers continues to grow," said KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 16.

Eva assessed that the passenger's data was a reflection of public confidence in thelush high-speed train service.

"And a reflection of people's satisfaction with the comfortable, fast, and efficient fast train service," he said.

He explained thatction is the first fast train service in Indonesia and Southeast Asia on the Jakarta-Bandung route and serves four stations, namely Halim, Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar.

According to him, the success of the operational task force cannot be separated from the implementation of the project on time.

For your information, China Railway Group Limited (CREC) is the main contractor and is also the largest shareholder in a consortium with Indonesia.

As the main contractor and majority investor in the Chinese consortium on the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project, CREC contributes to building 57 kilometers of the entire track, as well as all electric lines and electrification of high-speed trains.

"The Padalarang Station is currently listed as one of the stations with the highest number of passenger departures after Halim," said Eva.

According to Eva, the station is the only station that supports the transfer of passengers from KAI to the high-speed train, which is one proof of the commitment to completion of the project on time by CREC.

However, he did not specify the number of passengers at the station.

Eva added that the Padalarang high-speed train station had previously begun to be carried out intensively since the CREC received its assignment on October 31, 2022.

With a tight schedule and budget, the construction of Padalarang Station has a higher level of difficulty and risk.

The presence of the Padalarang High Speed Train Station, said Eva again, in addition to providing easy access to transportation also brought significant changes to the development of the surrounding area.

"Based on observations, Padalarang Station and its surrounding areas are currently increasingly stretched. Especially during school holidays like today, passenger activities at Padalarang Station appear to be increasing. The passenger waiting room looks crowded with taxi users," said Eva.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that the presence of the high-speed train has put Indonesia in line with developed countries.

"The transformations and innovations that have been pursued have now been enjoyed in real terms. The presence ofminsh also ends the history of the absence of high-speed trains in Southeast Asia and opens a new era of rail transportation in Indonesia," said Budi Karya.
