JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has completed the construction of the 14.3 kilometer (km) Intersection of Holat-Ohoiraut (km) road on Kei Besar Island, Maluku.

The construction of this road section is part of the support for infrastructure development in the outer islands, leading and lagging behind (3T) in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 18 of 2020 concerning the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) on 18 3T islands.

"The Holat-Ohoiraut intersection with the status of provincial roads is built with a national standard of 11 meters (m) wide, 5.5 m of violence and 1.5-2.75 m of road shoulder on the right and left," wrote the Ministry of PUPR on its official Instagram @kemenpupr, Tuesday, July 16.

The Ministry of PUPR is also building the Elat-Simpang Ngurdu-Ohoiraut Bridge.

In addition to Kei Besar Island, the construction of the outermost regional road is also carried out on Buru Island, namely, the construction of the 34 km Mako Modanmohe Trase Transfer Bridge and Namrole-Leksula Street.

"The construction of Jalan Namrole-Leksula 1 along 17 km is currently 100 percent physical progress," he said.

The construction of the Mako-Modanmohe Trase Transfer Bridge that connects Buru and Bursel Regencies is part of the support for the construction of the National Strategic Project (PSN) of the Way Apu Dam.
