Bahlil Ensures IKN Airport Is Ready To Operate Before August 17, 2024

JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia ensured that airports in the capital city of Nusantara are ready to operate before August 17, 2024.

"We will have a ceremony on August 17 at IKN and now for the airport it will be before August 17, we will land there," said Bahlil in Sumedang, quoted from Antara, Friday, July 12.

He stated that the airport would be one of the facilities for guests who will take part in the ceremony at IKN.

Bahlil said that currently the government is continuing to strive to ensure that all infrastructure projects at IKN run according to schedule, including the IKN Access Toll Road, can be used for the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Then the toll access is almost finished, yes, we pray that it will live almost about 10 kilometers," he said.

He added that this toll road can connect Balikpapan City with the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN in North Penajam Paser, mainly crossing the IKN Toll Road and the Balang Island Bridge.

In addition, he also ensured the presence of President-elect Prabowo Subianto on the agenda of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan Province, August 17, 2024.

"What is clear is that Pak Prabowo will have a ceremony on August 17 at IKN," he said.

The IKN and IKN ceremony for the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia will be held at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

For the implementation of the ceremony at IKN, President Jokowi was led directly accompanied by the elected president Prabowo Subianto.

Meanwhile, the RI 79th Anniversary Ceremony at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex was chaired by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin accompanied by the elected vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the reason for the ceremony for the 79th Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, 2024 was held in two locations, because currently it is still in the transition period from Jakarta to IKN.
