JAKARTA - President Director of PT Perekebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III Mohammd Abdul Ghani said debt payments related to employee old age unions and pension contributions will be completed next year.

Ghani said that his party had paid the old unit debt of Rp3.7 trillion and paid pension contributions that had never previously been paid of Rp3 trillion.

"This debt is still not paid off, next year it will only be paid off. God willing, next year we will have finished with employees, then matters about retirement and so on," he said in a meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, June 25.

Ghani revealed that one of the companies that has the responsibility of paying old-age compensation for employees is PTPN VIII in West Java.

"For example, PTPN VIII West Java, so far, almost Rp. 300 billion old age compensation has been paid, we will solve it. Because there is a flow of funding from PTPN which is healthy," he explained.

For three years after PTPN carried out the transformation, continued Ghani, the company managed to score a net profit from the previous one who always recorded losses.

"During the transformation we carried out from 2020 to the present, PTPN has collected a profit of IDR 11.7 trillion for three years. Then we have paid obligations to banks of IDR 11.3 trillion, and our basic debt has decreased for three years of IDR 11 trillion," he said.

On this occasion, Ghani said the debt burden of PTPN had been reduced to Rp30 trillion. This decrease in debt burden has occurred in the last three years.

"There is only Rp. 30 trillion from Rp. 43 trillion," he said.
