Commission IX Of The House Of Representatives Calls The Key To Realizing Independent Health Services Is Research

JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX DPR RI Itet Tridjajati Sumarijanto said the key to realizing independent health services in Indonesia is research.

"In order to go to health services that we can really be independent, the keyword is research," Itet said at the Working Committee Meeting (Panja) for Supervision of the Security Security System and Drug Quality of Commission IX of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, June 24.

Itet also requested that the budget for research, especially in the health sector, be reviewed in the future.

"Please review the research budget and try to achieve the appropriate figures for us to conduct research," he said.

He considered that currently, some related parties view that all research matters are tasks that are only carried out by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

In fact, Itet said, coordination between relevant stakeholders is still required.

"Saya pernah berbicara dengan Menteri Kesehatan (Budi Gunadi Sadikin) bagaimana penelitian? (Dijawab) 'Ah itu sudah urusan BRIN'. Semua berpikir urusan urusan orang lain, sehingga terlihat tidak ada koordinasi ini," kata dia.

According to Itet, so far Indonesia has not been independent in terms of health services, including research to optimize treatment for health problems because it is still buying medical devices produced by other countries.

"Until it is made, we will continue to buy it," he said.

Then, he also highlighted the problem of treatment in Indonesia which is still limited so that some people prefer to get treatment abroad.

He gave an example, Australia has implemented natural medicine because they are doing research.

Next, America also has a variety of vitamins because it has conducted research.

Thus, Itet hopes that the existence of the Working Committee (Panja) for the Supervision of the Security and Drug Quality System can help solve problems in the health sector, especially medicines and research limitations.

"Hopefully with this Panja, everyone will focus. If we really want to make research, we will fight for the budget for the guarantee," he added.
