PT KAI Transports 989,382 Passengers During The 2024 Eid Holiday

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded that 989,382 passengers had been carrying during the Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijri long holiday period, 13-18 June 2024.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said, based on data monitoring today until noon, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded a significant increase in passenger volume during the long holiday period of Eid al-Adha.

"In the period Thursday, June 13, 2024, until today, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the volume of train passengers reached 989,382 passengers or an average of 164,897 passengers per day," said Joni, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, June 19.

He mentioned that the data increased by 27 percent when compared to the previous week, namely Thursday, June 6 to Tuesday, June 11, where KAI served 780,039 passengers or an average of 130,006 passengers per day.

He mentioned that the peak of the departure flow during the long Eid holiday period was on Saturday, June 15 with 195,424 customers. Meanwhile, the peak of the return flow occurred on Tuesday, June 18 with 163,631 customers.

He detailed the sale of train tickets during the long holiday period of Eid al-Adha, namely on Thursday, June 13, 2024, tickets were sold as much as 139,620; on Friday, June 14, 2024 as many as 185,042 tickets; on Saturday, June 15, 2024 as many as 195,424 tickets.

Furthermore, on Sunday, June 16, 2024 tickets were sold as many as 159,229 tickets, on Monday, June 17, 2024 as many as 146,436 tickets; as of Tuesday, June 18, 2024 tickets were sold as many as 163,631 tickets.

"Today's ticket sales data is dynamic because based on the watch of the WIB or the data is still moving until 24.00 WIB," explained Joni.

Furthermore, Joni said that the people's favorite routes during the long holiday period were Jakarta - Surabaya to go home (PP); Jakarta - Solo pp; Jakarta - Malang pp; Yogyakarta - Banyuwangi pp; and Blitar - Bandung pp.

To accommodate the increase in customer volume during the long holiday period, KAI added 30 additional trains. So there is a total of about 1,849 train trips that serve the community for long holiday moments.
