JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta will operate eight additional trains (KA) in June to anticipate a surge in passengers during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Ixfan Hendriwintoko explained that the additional train operation is to accommodate passengers who will travel to various regions in the context of a long holiday on Eid al-Adha.
"The increase in the number of train trips is part of KAI's commitment, especially Daop 1 Jakarta to improve services to customers, especially during high seasons such as the holiday period of Eid al-Adha," said Ixfan in an official statement, Thursday, June 6.
Based on observations on Wednesday, June 5, the total train tickets sold for departures from Friday, June 14 to Tuesday, June 19, were 106,040 tickets or an average of 17,673 tickets per day out of the total availability of tickets for 217.000 from the departure of Gambir and Pasarsenen stations.
"The number of ticket sales will continue to move along with the long weekend period," said Ixfan.
KAI hopes that people who have planned to travel during the long weekend holiday of Eid al-Adha and do not yet have tickets can buy it either through the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, or other channels in collaboration with KAI.
"If the desired ticket runs out, the customer can select an alternative date and route or take advantage of the Connecting Train feature in the Access by KAI application which will help provide travel options by combining a connecting train schedule," he said.
So far, continued Ixfan, the people's favorite routes in the long weekend period are Jakarta-Surabaya pp, Jakarta-Solo pp, Jakarta-Malang pp and other relations.
