Ahead Of Eid Al-Adha, The Minister Of Trade Ensures That Prices And Food Stocks Are Safe

SERANG - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan ensured that food stocks ahead of Eid al-Adha were safe. In fact, he also said food prices were also normal.

"I went to the market for enough goods, sufficient stock, safe prices," he told reporters in Serang, Banten, Thursday, June 6.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas this morning visited the Kelapa Block F Market, in Cilegon, Banten. He said the price of shallots in the market was around Rp. 40,000 per kilogram (kg).

"White garlic is IDR 40,000, chili is IDR 40,000, eggs are too cheap IDR 27,000, chickens are too cheap IDR 38,000 per kg," he said.

For rice, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan also emphasized that the Government will continue to keep prices under control. One of them is by continuing to maintain supplies to anticipate the dry season.

The rice is no longer up, but it also doesn't go down. The government continues to maintain supply because the rainy season is only for a short time," he said.

"The stock is now almost 1.8 million tons and will be added according to what has been decided, which is 3.6 million tons to prepare if the dry season is as long as it used to be," he continued.
