Economist: Celebrating The 79th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia At IKN Is A Strong Moment To Attract Investment Interests

JAKARTA - An economist from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) said the celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia which is planned to be held in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) is a strong moment to attract investment, as well as proof of the progress of the strategic project. "The government still has two months before the moment of August. This is precisely a critical time for the government to show concrete steps as a positive signal for investors," said Chairman of the Research Group for the Knowledge Based Economy Center for Macroeconomic and Finance BRIN Bahtiar Rifai, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, June 5. He said that the celebration of the August 17 Anniversary at IKN will be a benchmark for investors to see the achievement of the fulfillment of basic infrastructure for such national strategic projects, such as water adequacy, access to electricity, energy, availability of transportation networks, and telecommunications.

He assessed that the celebration of Indonesian Independence in IKN was also a miniature of the projection of public crowds, so that investors could calculate the market calculations that could be obtained. "I said that celebrations of the anniversary, such as the prototype new capital, are the most important. Because what is most needed from the private sector is real evidence that this is operating," he said. He said to attract investment interest to make it even more massive, the government could offer a varied cooperation scheme for the private sector. As with not only providing concession schemes from businesses in IKN, but also providing innovation projections from the government, thus making the capital city of Indonesia in East Kalimantan even more advanced. "The government and the private sector sit together on how the government helps the private sector for creating a market, because the private sector when building something or investing something, it will count on the market. To what extent the incentives provided by the government can create that market," he said.

Sebelumnya Anggota Komisi II DPR RI Guspardi Gaus dan Wakil Direktur Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef) Eko Listiyanto mengatakan penetapan kepala dan wakil kepala Otorita Ibu Kota Nusantara (OIKN) yang definitif menjadi salah satu strategi untuk menjaga kepercayaan investor.Selain segera menetapkan pemimpin definitif pembangunan IKN, pemerintah juga mesti menetapkan target realistis pembangunan agar memberikan kepastian kalkulasi kepada para investor.
