Hillcon Melakukan First Cut Untuk Penambangan Nickel Di Sulawesi Tenggara

JAKARTA - PT Hillcon Tbk (HILL), a leading mining contractor company in Indonesia, announced the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) with PT Sulawesi Cahaya Mineral (SCM) which is a subsidiary of PT Merdeka Battery Materials, Tbk (MBMA) in Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi.

The signing of the LoI marks the start of a strategic partnership between Hillcon and SCM in the development of the nickel industry in Indonesia. Hillcon has made a first cut on May 20, 2024

"We are very enthusiastic about starting a collaboration with SCM and contributing to the development of the nickel industry in Indonesia," said Hersan Qiu, President Director of Hillcon, in his statement, quoted Monday, June 3.

The addition of this client strengthens Hillcon's position as a trusted nickel mining contractor, with a portfolio covering 9 nickel mines, including PT Indrabakti Mustika (a subsidiary of PT Pam Mineral, Tbk (NICL)), PT Adhi Kartiko Pratama, Tbk (NICE) and PT Weda Bay Nickel (WBN).

Hersan explained that Hillcon's uniqueness lies in its strong and resistant business model to nickel price fluctuations.

"The demand for nickel ore continues to grow along with the increasing capacity of nickel smelters in Indonesia," he said.

This, he said, opened up a great opportunity for Hillcon to continue to grow, targeting a total production of nickel ore mining services of 17 million wmt in 2024, or an increase of about 25 percent from last year's production.

Furthermore, Hersan is optimistic that Hillcon can achieve its revenue target of IDR 5 trillion in 2024 with a contribution of nickel revenue of IDR 2 trillion to 2.5 trillion this year.
