President Jokowi Asks To Immediately Issue A Revision Of The Presidential Regulation On Restrictions On The Purchase Of Pertalite

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo is known to continue to request that the implementation of Pertalite purchase restrictions be implemented immediately. Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) Erika Retnowati isak, in fact, currently the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 191 of 2014 concerning Provision, Distribution and Retail Selling Price of fuel is still ongoing.

"The revision of Presidential Regulation 191 is being discussed continuously at this time, because lastly there is also a directive from the President to be issued immediately, even today morning it is still being discussed," said Erika, quoted on Tuesday, May 28.

Erika further said that if this regulation was still being discussed at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and when it was completed, this regulation would be implemented immediately.

"It is still being discussed at the Coordinating Minister and has not been decided," he said.

In line with President Joko Widodo, Erika also hopes that the discussion of this rule can be published in the near future so that restrictions on the purchase of Pertalite can be carried out immediately.

"This Presidential Regulation concerns not only BPH Migas but also many related Ministries such as the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Transportation (Ministry), so there must be an agreement from all of them to be realized," explained Erika.

As previously reported, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said that the regulation on the purchase of subsidized fuel has not been completed in the near future.

The target for completing the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 191 of 2014 is in line with the government's plan to hold fuel prices and electricity rates will not increase until June 2024.

Arifin said that the revision of the regulation is expected to improve the target and realization of the distribution of fuel subsidies in the community later.
