Petrokimia Gresik Conducts Socialization Of Addition Of Subsidized Fertilizer Allocations On Outermost Islands

JAKARTA - PT Petrokimia Gresik, a member of the Pupuk Indonesia holding, conducted socialization to kiosks and distributors to the outermost islands in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province regarding the addition of the allocation of subsidized fertilizers in 2024 from 4.7 million to 9.55 million tons.

Director of Finance and General Affairs of Petrokimia Gresik, Robby Setiabudi Madjid stated that the addition of the allocation of subsidized fertilizers in 2024 also occurred in NTT, including the allocation of Urea from 36,408 tons to 62,228 tons previously.

Then the NPK allocation also increased to 70,244 tons from the initial allocation of 32,858 tons, as well as the Kakao NPK, whose allocation increased to 659 tons from the previous 95 tons.

He said that during May 10-15, 2024, his party had traveled to distributors and kiosks in NTT, such as Maumere and Rote Islands, which are Indonesia's southernmost regions.

"We are doing this socialization so that the addition of this allocation can be optimized by farmers to encourage agricultural productivity in NTT, and food security both locally and nationally," Robby said in his statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, May 16.

In order for farmers to optimize the addition of this allocation, the state-owned fertilizer company has prepared sufficient subsidized fertilizer stocks in line II (province) and line III (district/city) warehouses in NTT.

The subsidized fertilizer stock prepared for NTT, until May 14, 2024, is 20,557. This supply goes far beyond the minimum stock required by the government.

In detail, the subsidized Urea stock is 12,827 tons or about 352 percent of the minimum stock required by the Government, which is 2,324 tons. Meanwhile, the supply of NPK stock in NTT is currently 7,730 tons or 298 percent of the minimum provision of 2,594 tons.

"The stock is safe to meet the needs of farmers' subsidized fertilizers for the next 14 days. We will continue to ensure that the availability of fertilizers is maintained so that the additional allocation that has been carried out by the government really has a positive impact," said Robby.

He revealed that the absorption of subsidized fertilizers in NTT currently needs to be optimized. The realization of Urea distribution in NTT until May 2024 is only 17 percent of the allocation or 10,378 tons, then the NPK is also still 14 percent or 9,828 tons.

Meanwhile, he continued, with the ease of redeeming subsidized fertilizers that only use ID cards, supervision of the distribution of subsidized fertilizers is also getting tighter. To be able to get subsidized fertilizers according to Permentan Number 01 of 2024, farmers must be joined in the Farmers Group and registered in the electronics of the definitive plan for group needs (e-RDKK).

He said subsidized fertilizers are intended for sub-sector farmers of food crops such as rice, corn, and soybeans, as well as sub-sectors of horticultural crops such as chilies, shallots, and garlic, and sub-sectors of plantations such as sugar cane for the people, cocoa, and coffee.

Meanwhile, the criteria for the area of land that is being worked on are a maximum of 2 hectares, including farmers who are members of the Forest Village Community Institution (LMDH), in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.

In addition to socializing the addition of allocations and the ease of subsidized fertilizer replacement, he added, his party has also netted aspirations in an effort to improve subsidized fertilizer distribution services in NTT.

"Hopefully, the addition of subsidized fertilizer allocations and the ease of redeemation provided by the government will really have a big impact on agricultural productivity, especially in NTT," said Robby Setiabudi.
