Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo revealed that there is a plan to open a new flight route from Thailand to Yogyakarta.
The man who is familiarly called Tiko said that the plan to open this route was aimed at making it easier for monks to perform worship at Borobudur Temple, Magelang.
As is known, Borobudur Temple is the location that is the center of the celebration of Vesak Day.
This year, Borobudur Temple again held the Vesak celebration which was attended by dozens of Bhikku from Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
According to Tiko, with direct flights or directs from Tahiland to Yogyakarta, Buddhists who want to worship at Borobudur Temple can be easier.
"In the future, we will make direct flights from Thailand to Yogyakarta. This is to make it easier for Buddhists in Thailand and in the Asean region to be able to worship in Borobudur more easily and smoothly," he said in welcoming Bhikku Thudong, at TMII, Tuesday, May 14.
On the other hand, Tiko also invited various parties to participate in supporting the development of the Borobudur Temple area. Meanwhile, Borobudur itself is currently managed by the InJourney Group through PT Taman Wisata Candi (TWC).
"We also invite various groups, both the government and the private sector to welcome and be able to collaborate in the development of various facilities in Borobudur," said Tiko.
