Bank Jatim Supports JIIPE Gresik Funding

Bank Jatim provides funding support for the development of the Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (JIIPE) area in Gresik Regency by signing a memorandum of agreement (MoU) with PT Berkah Kawasan Manyar Sejahtera (BKMS).

Acting Governor of East Java (Jatim) Adhy Karyono in Gresik, Monday, May 13, believes that the cooperation is very strategic because PT BKMS is a company responsible for carrying out physical development and management of the JIIPE Special Economic Zone (KEK) in the local district.

"This MoU is a tangible form of banking support in East Java to be included in funding partners who are our objects in the JIIPE area," he said, after witnessing the signing of the MoU, reported by Antara.

Acting Governor Adhy hopes that cooperation support will be able to provide reinforcement to ecosystems in the JIIPE area. In addition, making East Java the most comfortable province to invest in.

"Bank Jatim, which already has assets of IDR 103 trillion, will increase by IDR 150 trillion. We hope this strength can strengthen the ecosystem in the JIIPE area. Hopefully, the investment will increase and become the most comfortable in East Java," he said.

Acting Governor Adhy stated that the MoU between the two parties is expected to be able to contribute to realizing the investment target of US $ 7 billion or more than Rp. 100 trillion in the five-year period set by the government.

In addition, it is also hoped that this collaboration will be able to realize the target of employment in the JIIPE area. Within 15 years since 2021, it is targeted to absorb 200 thousand workers.

"I believe that the target can be achieved. Therefore, I and my staff are keeping investment in East Java running well and meeting the targets that have been set together. Indeed, achieving this target is not easy. This is a shared task, so it requires hard work, cohesiveness and collaboration from various stakeholders," he said.
