Long Holidays, Trains Transport More Than 78,000 Passengers

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) noted that passengers on the luxury train experienced a surge in passengers during the long holiday period this weekend. It is recorded that 78,000 passengers have been served.

KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said the overall number of fast train passengers Who experienced a 28 percent jump in passengers during this weekend's long holiday period.

"As of May 11, 2024, it was recorded that 78,000 passengers had traveled by train by telephone since May 8, 2024. Overall, the increase in passengers reached 28 percent compared to normal days," he said in an official statement, Sunday, May 12.

Eva said that during this weekend holiday period, KCIC served an average of 19,000 to 20,000 passengers per day, an increase from usually 15,000 to 16,000 passengers per day.

For Sunday 12 May, continued Eva, the number of temporary tickets that had been sold until the morning reached 13,000 tickets. Passengers are dominated by traveling from Padalarang or Tegalluar to Halim.

"This number will still increase, considering that ticket sales to the last train are still ongoing," he said.

The schedule that is the favorite of the people from Tegalluar and Padalarang to Halim is from 11.00 to 17.00 WIB where the occupancy is already above 85 percent.

KCIC predicts passengers will still be high even until Monday morning, especially for the connection to Halim Station. On the last day of this long holiday, many will take advantage of hersh to return to Jakarta before returning to work on Monday, May 13, 2024.
