JAKARTA - The Indrapura-Kisaran Section II (Fifty-Kisaran) toll road will soon operate. This 32.15 kilometer (km) toll road is a connection from the Indrapura-Kisaran Section I (Indrapura-Five Puluh) toll road and has been in operation since November 10, 2023.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim said, during the socialization period, the Limapuluh-Kisaran section had not yet been charged a tariff or had not paid. However, when the tariff has been imposed, the cost for the toll road is estimated at IDR 1,338 per km.

"The tariff from Section Fifty-Kiran is estimated at around Rp. 1,338/km and we will inform you after the Kepmen tariff for this toll road is issued by the Ministry of PUPR," said Adjib quoted from Hutama Karya's official website, Saturday, May 11.

On the other hand, toll road users continue to prepare Electronic Money Cards (EU) for tapping at toll gates and still check the adequacy of EU Card balances, because for the Indrapura-Five Puluh Section the tariff has been set.

With the operation of section II, the Indrapura-Kisaran section will be fully connected. Adjib said that the presence of this toll road facilitates connectivity between cities.

"By being fully connected, this toll road will shorten the travel time from Medan to Kisaran which was originally 5 hours to only 2.5 hours and make it easier for travelers from the airport or vice versa. So, community mobility becomes higher and makes inter-city travel more efficient," he said.

The section II of this toll road has been tested for Functional Eligibility (ULF) from February 29 to March 31, 2024, with the results of the Minimum Service Standard (SPM) that have been fulfilled and functioning properly. This toll road has also been tested by being operated functionally during the Lebaran 2024 homecoming period, namely on April 3-21, 2024.

"The enthusiasm of people who want to pass is very high, as can be seen from the high traffic of vehicles passing during the Lebaran 2024 homecoming which was traversed by almost 100,000 vehicles with zero accidents," he said.

In terms of facilities, continued Adjib, Hutama Karya has prepared 127 standby personnel consisting of operational service officers, paramedics & patrols, 27 standby vehicles, two interchanges located in Fifty and Kisaran and two rest areas located at KM 145 Line A and B.

"With various facilities and preparations that have been made, Hutama Karya is ready to operate the Indrapura-Kisaran Toll Road Section Fifty-Grade so that it can be immediately enjoyed by the surrounding community," he concluded.
