The Merger Of 7 BUMN Karya So 3 Companies Targeted To Be Completed In September 2024

JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs, Arya Sinulingga, opened up about the target for the merger of seven BUMN works to only three.

He said the completion of the merger of this state-owned company was targeted for completion in September 2024.

The seven BUMN works that were merged were PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Hutama Karya (Persero), PT Nindya Karya (Persero), PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk or WIKA, and PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk, or PTPP.

"All works (BUMN), hopefully (merging in September 2024)," he said when met at HK Tower, East Jakarta, Tuesday, May 7.

Arya gave an example of the consolidation between Waskita Karya and Hutama Karya. He said Hutama Kasya would become a holding company or parent company, and Wakita Karya would become a subsidiary of HK.

"Holding, basically HK (as the parent company)," he explained.

Previously, it was reported that the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said the plan to merge seven state-owned companies into three companies was already in process.

"Today's work we have consolidated in the process stage of combining seven works into three work companies," Erick said at a working meeting of Commission VI DPR RI at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 19.

Furthermore, Erick said that this merger was carried out to nourish the performance of BUMN-BUMN works. "This is actually what we are doing to consolidate as well as restore," he said.

Erick said the merger would be accompanied by the classification of the projects that the three work companies would work on.

Later, he said, HK and Waskita would only focus on working on toll road, non-toll road, instituteal building, and commercial housing projects.

Then, WIKA and PT PP will no longer work on toll roads. Instead, focus on port projects, airports, and also housing or housing, as well as Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC).

"Then also the merger of Adhi Karya, Nindya Karya, they will focus on water, rail, and also of course some more contexts. This is what we are doing, actually consolidation and restructuring," he said.
