JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said SOEs in the work sector will not distribute dividends this year. He also admitted that he did not provide dividend targets for BUMN works.

The man who is familiarly called Tiko explained that the government understands that many state-owned companies in the work sector are experiencing financial problems and need restructuring.

"We don't target dividends in (BUMN) works. Because we know they are all restructuring, so there is no dividend in the works first," he told reporters written Monday, May 6.

The state-owned enterprises that did not provide dividends this year include PT PP (Persero) Tbk, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, to PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk.

Regarding Waskita Karya, Tiko said the company could have a positive financial report next year in line with Waskita joining the Hutama Karya or HK group.

"Next year, Waskita will be the son of HK, and we hope to be healthy. So maybe next year, financially, everything will be positive," he explained.

On the other hand, Tiko said to prevent fraud that could cause financial losses to the BUMN Karya project, his party had stated that funding would go directly to the project.

Funding goes directly to the project. So now we are all directly included in the project funding, marked one by one. So that no funding is misappropriated to other things," he said.
