Bappenas Reveals Positive National Growth Every Year

JAKARTA - Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa said that during the 10 years of the Joko Widodo administration, national development grew positively, as reflected in the average national economic growth to be stable in the range of 5 percent and the poverty rate fell to 9.36 percent as of March last year.

"During the reign of President Jokowi, economic growth was stable in the range of 5 percent," said Suharso when opening the 2024 National Development Planning Conference (Musrenbangnas) at the Jakarta Convention Center, Monday, May 6.

Suharso said the poverty rate also fell to one digit, namely 9.36 percent in 2023 compared to 11.25 percent in 2014 and jobs also rose to 4.55 million compared to only 1.87 million in 2014.

"The equitable development is also positive, where the Gini ratio also fell from 0.406 in 2014 to 0.388 in March 2023," said Suharso.

In addition, the farmer's exchange rate also increased from 102 in 2014 to 112.46 in 2023 and the Human Development Index also increased from 68.9 in 2014 to 74.39 in 2023.

"Human resource quality shows significant progress, marked by HDI which is up more than 5 points," said Suharso.
