JAKARTA - The Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani and her staff today carried out the obligation to submit an annual income tax return (SPT) through an electronic channel, namely E-filing.

At the activity that was held at the Djuanda I Building Complex of the Ministry of Finance, Sri Mulyani appealed to the public to immediately report the SPT before the March 31 deadline. Also, she asked the public to report SPT online or e-filing to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Virus.

"Don't forget the SPT report, if possible, don't wait until March 31, 2021, and for corporate tax it's still up to April", she said in an official statement, Monday, March 8.

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani added, by reporting the SPT earlier, taxpayers will have the comfort of not being fined due to being late in reporting the SPT.

"Of course, the corporate segment can also be done immediately", she said.

Based on data from the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT), to this day the number of SPT entries is 5.15 million, with 96 percent submitted via e-filing.

"Compliance with SPT submission is an important point for increasing tax revenue and in the long term capable of increasing the independence of the nation", said the Minister of Finance.

Also, the Ministry of Finance informed that when compared to the 2020 period, the SPT reporting rate for 2021 has decreased.

For information, SPT reporting via e-filing can be done through www.pajak.go.id. Before reporting the SPT, make sure the taxpayer already has and activates the Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN).

EFIN is an identification number issued by the Directorate General of Taxes for electronic SPT reporting.
