PT Bank BCA Syariah (BCA Syariah) has distributed financing for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of IDR 1.9 trillion until March 2024 or 20.70 percent of the bank's total financing.

"BCA Syariah always supports the growth of small and medium enterprises, both through education and distribution of financing," said BCA Syariah in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, May 2.

The company also noted that MSME financing distribution was the largest contributor in a sustainable financial portfolio with a composition of 69.85 percent of total sustainable financing.

As of March 2024, total financing at BCA Syariah reached IDR 9.3 trillion or grew 20.7 percent year on year (YoY). Meanwhile, total sustainable financing was recorded at IDR 2.7 trillion.

The third party funds (DPK) collected by BCA Syariah reached IDR 10.6 trillion until March 2024 or an increase of 14.65 percent YoY.

BCA Syariah's total assets reached IDR 14.3 trillion in March 2024, growing 14.51 percent compared to the same period the previous year (YoY). In its financial statements, BCA Syariah recorded a net profit of IDR 42.07 billion.

In order to support MSMEs in Indonesia, especially MSMEs built by women, BCA Syariah held the second WEpreneur, which is a women's MSME empowerment and training program.

The program is part of the implementation of BCA Syariah's sustainable financial strategy on the pillars of institutions that are contributive and responsible. At this event, BCA Syariah collaborated with SheStarts.id.

Through this program, BCA Syariah provides intensive training to 40 fostered MSMEs or called BigSista through a bootsamp class from experts and experienced industry practitioners.

Then, Big Sista continued the knowledge that had been obtained from the boothcamp session through the micro-mentoring program. In total, there were 58 micro-mentoring activities and managed to reach up to 1,528 other female MSME actors as education participants.

Furthermore, BCA Syariah selected 20 BigSistas to participate in business pitching competition activities. This activity is part of a debriefing program to train BigSista's ability to attract investors to increase business scale.

Participants are given briefings to sharpen business ideas, formulate business proposals, and present them attractively.

On Thursday, BCA Syariah gave awards to the three best female MSME actors, including Robiatul Adawiyah who is the founder of Batik Tjakraningrat, Yessie Natasaa Mareti from the Fashionistas brand, and Carolina Ardelia from the name Calore Art & Crafts. The award was given in the 2024 Big Sista Summit activity on Thursday.

"BigSista was chosen in this program as inspiring MSME players. Everything has an advantage, not only from business but also social and environmental activities and business activities. Each participant has different potentials and certainly has prominent leadership potential," said Director of BCA Syariah Ina Widjaja in the 2024 BigSista Summit virtually in Jakarta, Thursday.

According to him, the three best participants were chosen based on business performance, the significant impact of business on social and environmental affairs, and have prominent leadership capabilities and are actively sharing knowledge with MSME players in the surrounding community through mentoring activities.

Ina also hopes that all the knowledge gained by the participants during the WEpreneur program can be implemented to support business growth while having an impact on the environment and the surrounding community.

"With the end of Big Sista Summit, of course it will not end for us in our efforts to advance MSMEs in Indonesia. We hope that Big Sista will continue to work and take advantage of the knowledge that has been obtained from mentors as well as possible," said Ina.
