Up 13 Percent, KAI Commuter Serves 20.9 Million Passengers During Eid 2024 Transportation

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia or KAI Commuter noted that train passengers rose 13 percent during the Eid 2024 transportation period compared to last year.

It was recorded that 20.96 million people boarded the mode of transportation.

For your information, KAI Commuter has set the transportation period for Eid 2024 on March 21, 2024, to April 21, 2024.

KAI Commuter Director of Operations and Massaging, Broer Rizal, said that a total of 20,960,944 passengers transported during the Eid 2024 transportation period were the accumulation of all areas served by KAI Commutter.

"The total number of commuter line users in all KAI Commuter operating areas from March 31 to April 21, 2024, reached 20,960,944," he said at a press conference on the 2024 KAI Commuter Eid Transport, in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 23.

Of the 20.96 million users, he said, the most were recorded in the Jabodetabek KRL operational area.

"During those 22 days, there were 17,896,165 passengers on the Jabodetabek KRL and 152,001 people using the Basoetta Commuter Line (Soekarno-Hatta International Airport)," he said.

In addition, Rizal said, an increase in the number of passengers also occurred in the Yogyakarta-Solo KRL Commuter Line service. Next, commuter line Bandung and Surabaya.

Meanwhile, Rizal continued, the peak number of Jabodetabek KRL passengers occurred in the period 1 to 5 April 2024 as many as 1,041,750 people.

Meanwhile, the Basoetta KRL reached 11,287 people in the same period.

Rizal explained, this is a new experience. Because, usually the number of Commuter Line passengers in Jabodetabek tends to decrease during the holiday period.

"The characteristics of KRL passengers are usually very quiet on holidays, but because of the long holiday transportation period, the interest in the use of KRL transportation modes is quite high, and passenger volume also follows," he said.
