PT PLN (Persero) fully supports the implementation of the 2024 Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) to strengthen collaboration in developing the electric vehicle ecosystem in the country.

For the third time, PLN is again involved in a special exhibition for electric vehicles which will be held from April 30 to May 5, 2024 at Jiexpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

Chairman of the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo) Moeldoko assessed the importance of support and contributions from various stakeholders including PLN in the 2024 PEVS to accelerate the electric vehicle ecosystem in the country.

He hopes that the implementation of the 2024 PEVS will further expand public understanding of electric vehicles.

"We hope that the 2024 PEVS can further widen the reach of education, narrow the public's understanding of electric vehicles. In the past, our reach was only a few, but for PEVS this time the level of education to the public is increasing well," said Moeldoko, Tuesday, April 23.

Moeldoko believes that the increasing public understanding of electric vehicles will have an impact on the development of electric vehicles in Indonesia.

Representing PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo, PLN Director of Retail and Commerce Edi Srimulyanti explained that PLN's full support for the electric vehicle ecosystem is through the provision of massive infrastructure in the country.

"Alhamdulillah, PLN in collaboration with Mitra currently operates at least 1,299 units of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU), 9,800 Public Electricity Charging Stations (SPLU) and 1,900 Public Electric Battery Exchange Stations (SPBKLU)," said Edi.

It doesn't stop there, he continued, the Company will also develop as many as 2,000 SPKLU units on electric poles spread throughout Indonesia.

"God willing, this year we will add another 2,000 SPKLU that we will install on the power poles, be it planted on iron poles and for those attached to the concrete poles," continued Edi.

In order to accelerate the addition of EV infrastructure in Indonesia, PLN has also opened partnerships in developing SPKLU and SPBKLU.

Edi added, through the 2024 PEVS, the company also continues to socialize excess electric vehicles compared to oil-fueled vehicles (BBM) to the public.

This is also in line with the government's energy transition agenda to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2060.

"We also continue to work with various stakeholders such as Periklindo to educate the public to switch to electric vehicles that are more environmentally friendly," concluded Edi.
