Elected 8 Times, BRI Will Provide Banknotes For Living Cost Hajj Pilgrims 2024

JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI has been re-elected as the winner of the bidding process for the provision of foreign banknotes or Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR) for the life cost of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in 2024.

This was marked by the signing of banknotes minutes by BRI's Director of Wholesale and Institutional Business Agus Noorsanto, Member of the Implementing Agency for Benefits, Human Resources and General Affairs of BPKH Sulistyowati and Director of Hajj Fund Management and Integrated Hajj Information System of the Ministry of Religion Ramadhan Harisman at the BRI Headquarters in Jakarta on Friday, April 19, 2024.

BRI's Director of Wholesale and Institutional Business, Agus Noorsanto, said that with the support of a broad BRI work network in each embarkation, it is hoped that it can facilitate the distribution of Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR) banks more effectively and efficiently.

"BRI is committed to supporting and synergizing with BPKH together with the Ministry of Religion to make the implementation of Hajj activities successful in 1445 H / 2024 AD. With BRI's capacity and experience in providing banknotes for Hajj pilgrims, BRI is confident that it will continue to be able to provide the best service for all stakeholders involved, especially for Indonesian pilgrims," said Agus Noorsanto in a written statement to the media, Monday, April 22.

Meanwhile, Member of the Implementing Agency for Benefits, Human Resources and General Affairs of BPKH Sulistyowati also said that BRI's support proves that trust in BRI is maintained.

The distribution of living costs or living expenses to as many as 213,000 prospective pilgrims was carried out before the departure of the congregation starting from May to June 2024 through 20 embarkations and embarkations, including Aceh, Medan, Padang, Batam, Palembang, Bangka Belitung, Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung, Jakarta, Bekasi, Majalengka, Solo, Surabaya, Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, Lombok, Makassar, Gorontalo, and Maluku.

Each prospective pilgrim who departs will receive SAR banknotes of SAR 750.

The total number of Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR) banks that will be distributed by BRI to prospective pilgrims is SAR 159.9 million or USD 43.1 million.

As is known, the funds for the Implementation of Hajj (PIH) available in currency must be converted into foreign currency, namely Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR). During the process of distributing living costs for Hajj, BRI also serves additional SAR banknotes exchange for prospective pilgrims who need it through BRI Money Changer outlet services.
