ASDP Calls The Number Of Homecomers Using Private Cars At Tanjung Kalian Port To Increase By 25 Percent

PT. River Lake and Crossing Transportation (ASDP) Bangka Branch, Bangka Belitung Islands Province noted that the number of travelers using private cars during the 2024 Eid homecoming and reverse flow period at Tanjungkalian Port, Mentok, increased by about 25 percent to 4,611 units.

"For the number of pedestrian passengers passing through Tanjungkalian Mentok Port to Tanjung Apiapi Port, South Sumatra, this Eid momentum has decreased compared to the previous year," said General Manager of ASDP Bangka Ardhi Ekapaty Branch quoted from ANTARA, Friday, April 19.

Meanwhile, the number of passengers on the ferry for pedestrians, he said, in the period 3-14 April 2024, departing from Tanjungkalian Port to Sumatra, decreased by around 14 percent, from 19,017 people in the same period in 2023 to 16,298 people this year.

Likewise, the number of passengers in the category above the vehicle fell by about 16 percent from 20,158 people in 2023 to 16,844 people this year.

"Overall, the number of passengers, both pedestrians and those on board the vehicle decreased by 15 percent, in 2023 there were 39,173 people, while this year 33,142 people," he said.

Although the number of people has decreased, the number of vehicles crossing this year has increased compared to the previous year, namely for motorcycle vehicles from 2,557 units in 2023 to 2,774 units, an increase of eight percent.

The number of bus vehicles rose 155 percent, from 20 units in 2023 to 51 units, while trucks fell nine percent, from 674 in 2023 to 615 units.

"As an accumulation of the number of vehicles crossing from Tanjungkalian Port, there was an increase of 16 percent, from 6,953 units to 8,051 units this year," he said.

For this year's homecoming period, the Tanjungkalian Mentok Port manager has made 124 crossings served by 15 units of roro ships.
