BPH Migas: Jargas Supply For The Central Java Region Is Safely Controlled

JAKARTA - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) ensures that during the Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr (RAFI) 2024 period, natural gas supply for users of the Natural Gas Network (Jargas) in the Semarang area, Central Java, is in a safe condition.

This was conveyed by members of the BPH Migas Committee, Iwan Prasetya Adhi and Wahyudi Anas, conducting a review of the Semarang Regional PGN Office and plunging directly into household jargas users.

"Alhamdulillah, the supply of jargas in the RAFI period is safe, there are no obstacles related to the availability and distribution of gas," said Member of the BPH Migas Committee, Iwan Prasetya Adhi, Wednesday, April 17.

Furthermore, Iwan explained, ahead of Eid al-Fitr, demand for industrial gas has decreased (low demand) while gas demand for households shows an increase.

"This is because industrial activity has decreased during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period, while households show an increase in D-1 which shows activity ahead of Eid increases," he said. Not only conducting field monitoring, Iwan Prasetya Adhi and Wahyudi Anas also visited household jargas customers to listen to suggestions and input. In the Semarang area, we also make random visits to customers. Alhamdulillah, the community is quite comfortable subscribing to PGN, there are no obstacles both in terms of service and gas distribution to household customers," explained Wahyudi.

During this visit, Wahyudi also said that the Sales and Operation Regional (SOR) III PGN managed gas lines with a total of around 207,585 customers divided into several sectors, namely households, Commercial and Industrial Small Customers. During the RAFI 2024 holiday period, natural gas consumption experienced the highest decline of around 51 percent, of which initially amounted to 220 BBTUD and on the day of Eid al-Fitr it fell to 106 BBTUD. The decrease in gas absorption of PGN SOR III customers is dominated by the industrial sector which reduces gas consumption volume during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

"Based on the condition of service reports to customers, recaps in Semarang are minor constraints, not disturbances caused by pipes. All pipe leaks are nil, so we can assure you that for gas station customer services in terms of supply and natural gas distribution infrastructure networks everything is safe," concluded Wahyudi.
