Several infrastructure projects are being speeded up to complete. First, flood control around Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA), which is due to the capacity of the drainage channels in the airport area not being able to accommodate the flood discharge of the Bogowonto and Serang rivers.

The project is expected to be able to protect and secure YIA's strategic area from flooding of 600 hectares and agricultural and residential areas of 2,000 hectares. Also, it is necessary to provide an alternative mode of transportation to get to YIA airport, namely the airport train.

Second, road projects include the Jogja-Bawen Toll Road, the Solo-Jogja-Kulon Progo Toll Road, the Southern Cross Road (JJLS), Temon Street (Kulon Progo) -Borobudur, and Street of Prambanan-Gading which are expected to streamline travel time. become connectivity between the strategic areas of national tourism in Yogyakarta and its surroundings, support growth and revive the economy, as well as encourage the National Economic Recovery (PEN) program.

Third, the Tanjung Adikarto Fishery Port (PP) project, which is designed to contain 400 ships with 5 thousand fishermen each year, with a catch production of 27.4 thousand tons per year or IDR 276 billion per year.

The port has been in operation since 2000 and was completed in 2014, but has not yet been operational due to sand sedimentation covering the port entrance channel.

The fourth project, namely the Regional Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM), including Kamijoro, Kartamantul, and Banyusoco, requires central government support for the management of part of the production unit and distribution network, as well as support for raw water units to operate in 2025.

Fifth, namely the completion of the revitalization of the Piyungan final disposal site (TPA) as an Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST). Later, the TPA will serve Yogyakarta urban areas, including Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta City and Bantul Regency.

The sixth project is the arrangement of the Aerotropolis Area, the Tugu Station Area, the Lempuyangan Station Area, and the Mount Merapi National Strategic Area (KSN).

According to Luhut, supported by beautiful nature, DI Yogyakarta has a lot of tourism potentials, such as Menoreh Hill in Kulon Progo and rice fields along the South Coast. The tourism potentials need to be utilized sustainably.

"The Ministry will continue to support the development of supporting infrastructure for tourism in DIY", concluded Luhut.
