Meninting Dam Progress Reaches 79.33 Percent, Hutama Karya: Stay On Track During Ramadan

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) said the construction of the Meninting Dam in West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, was still on track during Ramadan.

It is known, as of March 29, 2024, the overall progress of this project has reached 79.33 percent.

"The month of Ramadan does not dampen the enthusiasm to continue to improve the progress of this project. With the right handling strategy, Hutama Karya continues to strive to provide the best in any conditions," reads Hutama Karya's management statement quoted from the official Instagram account @hutamakarya, Monday, April 8.

This project is one of the important steps in supporting food security programs and increasing water supply in the West Lombok region.

For your information, this project worth IDR 875.24 billion has the potential to provide benefits to irrigate an irrigation area of 1,559.29 hectares (ha) to meet the raw water needs for North West Lombok Regency, especially in the Senggigi area of 150 liters per second and potentially as a hydro-powered power plant (PLTMH) of 2 x 0.4 megawatts.

The project, which stands on an area of 50 ha, has begun at the end of 2019 and is targeted for completion in 2024.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Water Resources (SDA) targets 15 dams to be completed this year.

A total of 15 dams are Keureuto Dam, Rukok and Rukoh Steering Building (Aceh), Tiga Dihaji (Sumsel), Leuwikeris (West Java), Jlantah, Bener, Jragung (Central Java) and Bagong (East Java).

Then, Sidan Dam (Bali), Meninting (NTB), Manikin (NTT), Marangkayu (Kaltim), Bulango Ulu (Gorontalo), Budong-Budong (Sulbar) and Way Apu (Maluku).
