The State Economy Increases At The Moment Of Eid Homecoming Through This Sector

JAKARTA - Homecoming has become a tradition at every Lebaran moment in Inodnesia. This activity also has a positive impact on the economy, especially in several sectors.

Special Staff to the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Ahmed Zaki Iskandar estimates that the economic movement during the Lebaran homecoming period will reach IDR 386 trillion.

This is obtained from the potential movement of humans, which is estimated to amount to 193 million people in this year's Eid homecoming.

"This means that within a period of time during the long Lebaran holiday, let's say that per head they spend Rp. 2 million during the homecoming season, there is a potential of around Rp. 386 trillion that drives the economy in Indonesia during the Lebaran homecoming," Zaki said in his statement in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Sunday, April 7.

The main factors that encourage economic movement during the Lebaran holiday are the availability of public transportation and supporting infrastructure. The availability of buses, trains, and airplanes is said to be an important factor in facilitating the movement of the community.

In addition, a wide and well-connected road network in various regions, such as in Java, Sumatra, and other islands, is also the main driver of community movement. This, he said, would trigger the interest of the people of tourism.

"This makes people want to make movements, not only going home, but also traveling and visiting other areas. For example through the food and beverage sector, the hotel sector, tourism," he explained.

The circulation of money that occurs is believed to have a significant impact on regional economic growth, especially for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector, so that it can be a momentum for improving the regional economic sector after the COVID-19 pandemic.

He hopes that the circulation of money will not only occur on the island of Java, but also on all islands in Indonesia.

On the other hand, he sees that the increase in public transportation price tickets during the homecoming season will not have a major effect on inflation. Because, this will be covered by the massive movement and spending of the community during Eid.

"Indeed, there is an impact on inflation due to the increase, but it can still be covered with human movement," said Zaki.
